I first met Arthur Berry through mutual friends that were already his students. They were excited for me to meet the man they called Sifu. I first attended one of his Informed Encounters classes and then later joined The Club in February of 2003 -
at which point, Arthur Berry became Sifu to me too.
Sifu is not only a teacher who has guided me on the path of kung fu, but is also my friend and second father. I am forever grateful for the love he gives and the knowledge and wisdom he shares.
My early years of training included the obstacles of a surgery, injuries and personal setbacks. With the love and support of the Sifu and my Kung Fu family, as well as a lot of patience and hard work, in 2012 I started a new part of the kung fu journey by being given the honor of instructor's rank.
My experiences with the Sifu and my brothers and sisters of the Chinese Kung Fu Club of DeKalb have forever changed the way I experience the world. The skills and lessons I have learned and am still learning will forever color my life.
As always, much Love and Respect to my Kung Fu Family.
